Thank you for visiting my blog, perhaps you are thinking why does the internet need yet another programming blog,(yapb)? I had some similar misgivings but decided to take the plunge after a number of conversations with my oline buddy Cactus and what I see in my day job working with process control systems and developing software to control them.

There seems to be a knowledge gap out there for all things encryption. I know most of us in the tech business are smart enough to use TLS on our websites and look for the little lock when we bank but I see lots of interesting implementations of crypto outside of the browser website world.

It's about the implementation of the crypto more than the algorithms themselves.  I subscribe to the model Bruce Schneier has been encouraging for years, algorithm is public, key is secret.

The devil is in the details and testing is an area that is often overlooked so Cactus and I are going to blog about software development concepts as well as posting POC code and the odd crypto puzzle just for fun.
